Congratulations to our clients, Soho Luxury Restaurants, on the official opening of their latest concept, F.R.N.D.S Grand Cafe. Located on the ground floor of Address Fountain Views, Downtown Dubai, this luxury restaurant and lounge brings a touch of glitz and glamour, taking inspiration from the roaring 20s and the rich Art Deco period.
The 15,000 sq-ft venue features an opulent design, with silky drapes, extravagant crystal chandeliers, mirrored ceilings, and a floating marble table. Deep emerald green and ruby red tones, a brass-gilded bar, and an intricate stained-glass window enhance the sophisticated ambiance.
A striking focal point in the dining area is a five-meter-tall bas-relief carving by world-renowned Portuguese artist VHILS (Alexandre Farto). Known for his groundbreaking technique, VHILS etches and carves into surfaces using drills, hammers, chisels, and knives to reveal hidden layers beneath. His work exposes what lies beyond the superficiality of things, restoring meaning and beauty to forgotten textures. Often described as a contemporary urban archaeologist, VHILS has showcased his unique artistry in over 30 countries, through solo and group exhibitions, site-specific art interventions, and large-scale projects.
Now, his signature carving technique can be admired right here at F.R.N.D.S Grand Cafe, where the artwork forms a captivating visual poetry for diners, bringing depth and character to the space.
