When the Spanish hotel group Meliá Hotels International opened its first hotel in the GCC, they engaged A&T to fit out the 5-star interiors. The hotel, home to 164 rooms, a 200sqm ballroom and two boardrooms, combines a modernist aesthetic with touches of cultural tradition. Warm colours, antique finishings and materials such as wood, metal and marble add richness to the space. The spacious atrium is home to sculptural bookcases and slick, slate water features. Overall the luxury hotel offers visitors a glimpse into how the city used to be, but with contemporary comforts.
